Liveaboard Egypt Deep South St. Johns Reefs, Rocky & Zabargad Island
for scuba divers
This tour takes you to the deep south of the Egyptian Red Sea – to the beautiful St. Johns Reefs. These reefs are only visited by safari boats and are far more untouched than the more northern diving areas. Both safari beginners and very experienced divers get their money’s worth here. There are shallow and sheltered sites with canyons, coral gardens and beautifully overgrown ergs as well as more challenging sites with drop-offs, currents and a good chance of encountering big fish.
Rocky Island and Zabargad Island are two elevations in the middle of the Red Sea far from the mainland.
Rocky Island has steep walls that drop to a depth of over 1000 meters. The walls are overgrown with soft corals and huge gorgonians, which are caught in the current and catch plankton. Many species of shark, sailfish, dolphins and manta rays can be observed here.
Zabargad Island with its turquoise-blue lagoon is already a beautiful sight above water. Underwater we have both steep walls and shallow areas with dozens of coral towers. Many groupers can be found here and when night diving at Zabargad Island you can spot octopuses, crabs and often the Spanish dancer.
The Fury Shoals lie between the starting point of Marsa Alam and the St. Johns reefs. We also like to spend some time diving in this beautiful area here. Dolphins, turtles, sharks, everything is possible!
This tour is very varied. Night dives are also possible.
